The high-current Samsung cell is a novelty on the market, distinguished by its ability to withstand high currents with low resistance of 11.67mR. Its load capacity is comparable to the Samsung 40T series 3 cell, while offering 20% greater capacity.

Our independent tests conducted with the Pulsar 3+ WiFi tester showed that at a 20A load, the cell reaches a temperature of 53°C, generating a capacity exceeding 5000mAh with minimal voltage drops. The test was conducted on a cell charged to 4.2V and concluded at 2.5V. Further studies showed that at a 25A load, the cell does not perform well enough. Although the manufacturer allows operation up to 80°C, optimal performance is achieved at temperatures up to 65°C. For battery packs, the continuous current for a single cell should not exceed 22A. For higher currents, temperature control and BMS cut-off in case of cell overheating are recommended. We recommend protection up to 80°C for a single cell and a maximum of 70°C for cells connected in a pack.
