The Samsung 53G combines what other cells make you choose separately: 5300 mAh at 15 A continuous current. This is the cell for those who don't want to compromise between range and power — and one of the few models in this comparison with a declared lifespan of up to 1000 cycles while retaining 80% capacity (twice as much as the competition).

When should you choose the 53G?

The 50S is a rare combination: 5000 mAh of capacity at 35 A continuous current. Usually high capacity and high current rule each other out — the 50S breaks that rule, and it's one of the few 21700 cells on the market in this category.

When should you choose the 50S?

  • Sur-Ron, e-motorcycles, performance scooters — full power without losing range
  • Packs for dynamic riding — frequent acceleration, hill climbs, an aggressive style

How do these cells work with a BMS?

All five models are cells without a built-in PCM (unprotected, "bare can") — meant to be integrated into a pack with an external BMS (Battery Management System). The BMS is responsible for:

  • protection against overcharging (>4.2 V) and over-discharging (<2.5 V)
  • protection against short circuits and overheating
  • balancing voltages between cells in the pack

When choosing a BMS, the total continuous current of an entire parallel string is critical. Example: a 12S3P pack with EVE 40P cells (40 A per cell × 3P) theoretically generates 120 A of continuous current — the BMS needs to handle that with margin. By comparison, the same pack with LG M58T cells (12.5 A × 3P) is "only" 37.5 A.

The higher a cell's CDR, the fewer parallel strings (P) you need at the same load — but that also means lower total pack capacity, unless you compensate with a higher-capacity cell (as with the 50S).

Can you mix different 21700 cell models in one pack?
